About Me
As a UK-based, self-taught digital artist, my creative journey began with traditional photography, using film and digital cameras to create slides and prints in black and white and colour. Things changed during a moment of inspiration on a London Underground platform, where I observed fellow commuters in their unguarded moments.
This experience led me to start capturing candid human moments with an iPhone, then transforming them into abstract images using mobile apps. My initial approach focused on creating finished artworks as quickly as possible, turning everyday observations into artistic compositions.
My practice has evolved through distinct phases: first using iPhone apps for immediate transformation, followed by integrating desktop applications into my workflow for more refined development, and now incorporating digital painting techniques.
Throughout this evolution, photographs have remained a consistent starting point — a bridge between documentary capture and abstract expression.
All the work displayed on my website is available as high-quality prints on fine art paper, canvas, or other products including postcards and mugs. Please contact me for details using the form at the bottom of this page.
Or get in touch if…
- You’d like an existing artwork adapted in a different colour palette, format, or scale.
- You have a personal photograph or image you’d like reworked into digital art.
- You’re interested in a commissioned piece inspired by a person or place, journey, or everyday scene.
Commissioned work is discussed on an individual basis and reflects the scope, complexity, and intended use of the finished artwork. There is no obligation to proceed beyond an initial conversation.

What My Customers Say
I wanted something different to send to friends as cards for Xmas a few years ago. I contacted him with my (vague) thoughts and Mark came up with something unique and original. I’ll be using him again this year.
PS My friends were very impressed!
Helen, St Albans, UK
Based on the vaguest of outlines, Mark came up with some truly unique images as part of my house renovation.
Petra, Frankfurt, Germany
When my family and I move to Canada a few years ago, Mark created a painting of Vancouver Harbour. Really abstract! Wonderful. You’ll probably find it in his gallery somewhere.
Sean, Vancouver, Canada
